Manuscript Wishlist

What is a manuscript wishlist?

A manuscript wishlist is a reference of the types of stories I would like to edit. This is a useful tool for you as a writer to determine if we are a good fit. My goal is to give you an idea of the stories I love and the ones that are not for me.

Finding an editor that is right for you is an important decision. Your writing is a business. As you move forward towards publication, it’s important to have people in your corner that are championing your vision for your story. If you don’t see your story on this list, but think that I am a good fit for your project, feel free to submit an inquiry here.

GENRES:

  • Fantasy

  • Science Fiction

  • Romantasy

  • Young Adult/New Adult

  • Romance (except for dark romance)

  • Military fiction

  • Literary Fiction

NOT A GOOD FIT FOR:

  • Historical Fiction

  • Erotica

  • Middle grade, children’s books, or picture books

  • Screenplays or poetry

  • Line edits, copy edits or proofreading

  • Any writing created or modified by an AI reinforcement learning or natural language processing system, such as Chat-GPT.

I like stories with…

  • Reluctant heroes, secret heirs, prophecies, magical trials, mythology, fairytale retellings, and curses

  • Female villains, anti-heroes, bad guys who are actually good guys, good guys who are actually bad guys, and morally grey protagonists

  • Forbidden love, forced proximity, rivals to lovers, enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, and forbidden love

  • Plot twists, compelling internal arcs of change, conflict that puts you at the edge of your seat, high-stakes, and betrayals

  • Found families, a group of misfits, sacrifices for the greater good, and protecting humankind

  • Time travel, technology I wish exited, space travel, and dystopian futures

I don’t like stories with…

  1. Insta-love and/or a lack of emotional foundation for the main couples interest in one another

  2. Sexual assault, romanticized abuse, consensual sex, extreme domestic violence, or child sexual abuse
