What is a Manuscript Evaluation?

A LIGHTER SERCIVE THAN A DEVELOPMENTAL EDIT

A manuscript evaluation focuses on what's working withing your story while providing areas for improvement. It includes a shorter editorial letter than a full developmental edit, but ensures you walk away with next steps in your editing process. Many authors choose this package to work with a developmental editor to revise their book. A book editor will read your manuscript and give you an idea of what you're doing well and how you can improve.

For writers seeking feedback on their story’s potential, a manuscript evaluation is perfect. This less intensive edit suits projects with limited budgets or those unfamiliar with feedback.

I’ll identify three major strengths and three areas for improvement for your manuscript. These focus on the big picture of your story while focusin on the overall structure. At the end, you'll have the oppurtunity to ask me questions for up to 30 days.

What’s included in a Manuscript Evaluation:

  • One full read of your manuscript

  • 3-5 page Editorial Report focusing on the most impactful suggestions

  • One 60-minute call to discuss your manuscript

  • 30 Days of unlimited support via email

“I am a first time author and was quite scared to get feedback. Even the constructive criticism you gave me was given in such a positive way that I felt empowered and encouraged.”
